Gustav Imam - Yvonne Imam- Philomena Imam and Putli Ganjhu ( The four artists from Hazaribag, Jharkhand represented India in Canada at the National Gallery of Canada and made Sohrai art).
It is a proud moment for the whole Jharkhand as the Sohrai artist Yvonne Imam, Philomena, and Putli Ganjhu presented the Sohrai art at the National Gallery of Canada.
70 Artists from around 40 Nations presented their art and they were among them and made the world's largest Sohrai painting on the canvas on the National Gallery of art.
Sohrai art was discovered by Padma Shri awardee from Jharkhand Shri Bulu Imam sir in the 1990s at karnpura valley of Jharkhand. He then further took this art form at national and international levels and promoted the Sohrai art all over the world.
Now the legacy has been passed on to his son Gustav Imam and her daughter Yvonne Imam. Gustav represented India at the National Gallery of Canada as a curator and Yvonne as an artist along with their mother Philomena and very famous artist of Sohrai Putli Ganjhu.
All the artists remained in Canada for around 1 Month and made the Sohrai art at the world's largest canvas.
