MEET Garima SinghGARIMA SINGH (an IAS with a difference-Cleared UPSC twice with 109 rank and 55 rank-Innovated an Anganbadi school into a modern play school from her own savings)
Garima Singh was an IPS officer from 2016 batch and she cracked her UPSC with 109 rank in her first attempt .Now she is an IAS officer from 2017 batch and this time she got 55 rank. The most unique thing about Garima Singh is that she has adopted an Anganbadi school in hazaribag and has transformed it into a play school from her own savings. A wonderful initiative taken by her is to motivate those underprivileged students who can enjoy all the benefits of world class institutions in the form of play school. Currently Garima Singh is Assistant collector of Hazaribag and when she got an additional charge of welfare department, she took this great initiative to transform ‘aganbadi’ school and further she wants all the ‘anganbadi’ schools to follow the same path.
Asking about her role as an IPS officer, she said, the ambit of work in administrative service is much more vast and varied in comparison to police service. Being an IPS and being on the job she prepared for her goal to be an IAS and her dedication landed her what she wanted from the core of her heart. A young and dynamic female changing the whole scenario of education from grass roots.
Garima hails from Uttar Pradesh and her first posting was in her home state and she served bravely during her tenure. She kept herself engaged with books during her duty and strived hard to appear and crack UPSC second time with 55 rank. It really requires patience and perseverance to crack UPSC twice which shows her hard working nature and dedication towards serving our nation. She is enjoying her duty as an IAS in Hazaribag, Jharkhand as she believes the scope of work is very vast in Jharkhand.
IAS Garima Singh is an inspiration for many more aspirants who wants to contribute to their society.
