Suman Prasad (Interior Artist,Wall Painting Specialist, Artist)
Suman Prasad, an Artist from Jamshedpur started with simple artwork from school drawing competition to becoming an interior designer to wall painting and opening her own academy and art classes.
Born and brought up in Jamshedpur and did her schooling from Kadma girls school, Jamshepur, and completed her graduation in B.Com from Ranchi Univerisity.
During her school days and college days, she used to be a carefree girl and enjoyed every bit of her life until her father passed away in 2010. She used to get everything that she wanted from father, but after her father passed away, she started working in UNICEF to keep pace with life and used to earn 5000 rupees. Although her passion was to become an artist and pursue her career, she has to work unwillingly to keep up with her life going. In 2012, she left her job at UNICEF and joined some media house as a designer but she was given other jobs to do so she was not happy with her job as her inclination towards paintings and designing was very high.
She got inspired for her dream of pursuing her passion further from a foreign artist who used to make art and publish his work on facebook in 2012. She was scrolling through the artist during lunchtime when she was working with the media house and from there she thought of doing the same.
She made various wall paintings and posted her work on facebook. Her facebook friends started contacted her after seeing her art and she started doing wall painting for them. Her art got much fame when her story got published in Prabhat Khabar about the girl doing wall painting and people contacting her through facebook. As time passed, she got recognition from people and her work got appreciated all over Jamshedpur. In 2013, she became a professional artist by coming up with her own institute in Jamshedpur with the name 'Flamin Art'. Since 2013, she has been doing wall paintings and interior designing and her work has become popular among the youth of Jamshedpur as various Restaurants and hotels started contacting Suman for her art to be displayed in the walls of creative restaurants.
Her unique art got popular among young students too and she now runs her own art institute along with interior designing.
In 2020, she brought various hidden talents of Jamshedpur through a wonderful event called Quarantine contest in association with Jamshepurian facebook group. More than 250 artists from different walks of life participated in her online contest and showcased their artwork. She threw this idea of quarantine contest through a facebook live in the group Jamshepurian.
She has been doing tremendous work in making wall painting and hand made interior designing popular among the youth and working hard to bring out hidden talents among the people.
She has been recognised for her efforts and received ample accolades from different stakeholders. She has been awarded for her work in Swatch Bharat Abhiyan by Colonel Neeraj Kumar and Indian Railways. She has been awarded by Jusco for her work in the field of women empowerment.
She also got various honors such as 'Aprajita Samman' by Prabhat Khabar and many such Sammans by various orgnanisation.
Talking with Humans of Jharkhand, she says, She wants to take her art at international level with the training she is providing to empower the women of Jamshedpur.
