Shabbi Alam (A heart touching story of a chartered Accountant)

Born and brought up in a locality of Hazaribag which lacks basic education and Shabbi Alam has fought all odds to be a Chartered Accountant. Belong to a family whose sole business was to sell fruits and earn their living and working or opting for another trade was a distant dream for them. 

After completing his matriculation and plus two from DAV public school with a score of 90 plus percentage and remained in the list of toppers, Shabbi Alam decided to pursue his graduation from Delhi University.Although his family and community was in dilemma whether to send this kid for further studies or to retain him to look after the fruit business. Along with studies, Shabbi Alam has been a very good sportsperson, he has represented Hazaribag District for couple of years and remained captain of DAV cricket team during his plus two.After scoring 90 plus percentage in plus two in Commerce, Shabbi Alam was adamant  to move to Delhi and wanted to study in Delhi University.

He went to Delhi in 2009 for pursuing his graduation, with good score in his hands, he was getting Ramjas College in the first cut off, but he waited for 2nd cut off to get admission in Hasraj college (one of the best colleges of Delhi Univeristy) and his name came in the list. He was very happy and collected all his certificate booked an auto rickshaw and went to take admission. 

While getting out of auto rickshaw at Hansraj college he was so excited and happy that he forgot all his original certificates in the auto itself and the auto was lost in Delhi crowd after dropping Shabbi Alam. Shabbi Alam got his first shock of his life when he came to know about his missing certificates at the admission counter. Panic all around and Shabbi cried his heart out, called his mother and everybody was shock to know about this demise. Meanwhile, Shabbi met the principal of Hansraj college and reiterated the whole incident and the Principal agreed to give 7 days time to bring back he certificates as last date for admission was already over.

It was his sheer luck that after two days, the auto driver called Shabbi's home and assured that he will return his certificates. Somehow he managed to get back his certificates but auto driver did not turned up himself to return as he took some 5000 rupees from the wallet Shabbi Alam (which was his Admission fees). Shabbi got admission at Delhi University and just after completing his one years of graduation, his father passed away. He came back to Hazaribag and he was in the lot of pressure as he his family except his grand father and mother wanted him join the trade of his family. He went back to complete his graduation and completed with first division and started preparing for Chartered Accountant examinations. He kept on clearing his examinations with distinction. He worked night and day to prepare for CA examination. A time came during the preparation his CA when his grand father who has been supporting him passed away. Taking examinations became difficult for him as he  came back to Hazaribag and it became difficult for him to prepare. Back his community was consistently putting pressure to live studies and tried all the tricks to stop him from being in professional world.

He kept his motivation high and completed his CA breaking all the jinx. He got offers from all the big 4 companies, but he came back to Hazaribag to open his own CA firm (Shabbi Alam and associates).

Shabbi Alam
