SATYA PRAKASH ( An Environmentalist, Bird watcher, Saving Vulture, Snake, and other endangered flora and fauna) 

Satya Prakash is the environmentalist of Hazaribag who has dedicated his life to working towards the protection of natural habitats and the environment. Along with that, he has ample experience of bird watching and consistently helps in the identification of new species and the species already present.

Let's know more about his affiliation with nature and his work towards the Save vulture campaign and the rescue of snakes.

After completing his matriculation from St.Xavier's School, Hazaribag, Satya Prakash did his intermediate, graduation, and master's from St.Xavier's College. (Masters in Zoology).

He completed his Ph.D. too from VBU(Vinoba Bhave University) and working on a very interesting research work related to Hazaribag's Wildlife and the conservation of Vultures.

His love for wildlife grew when joined St.Columba's College for graduation and since then he has joined various organizations which were working on environment protection.

He has been associated with various organizations since then and here are some of his affiliations with environmental organizations. He is the President of Neo Human Foundation, he has been State coordinator of Jharkhand in IBCN (Indian Bird Conservation Network) (IBCN is Network of BNHS). He is also the state coordinator of AWC (Asian Waterbird council), Wetlands International. He is a member of the Steering Committee of Palamau Tiger Reserve, Daltonganj, Jharkhand. He is an Assistant Editor- of the Columban Journal of Life Science, Jharkhand. He is a reviewer of ENVIS-Jharkhand News, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Jharkhand. He is a member of- Bio-Medical Waste Management Task Force of Hazaribag Jharkhand. He is also a member of Elephant Project, Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, and Palkot Wildlife Sanctuary.

Recently Hazaribag Wildlife Sanctuary has been declared as an Important Bird Area (IBA) of our country by BNHS (Bombay Natural History Society.

While talking with Satya Praksh he said, "Jharkhand has been one of the least studied states in terms of birds. Information on birds is limited and a bird checklist of the state is also not available".He further said, "“In a bid to understand the state’s bird potentiality, we have started bird census since 2008-09. After proper study for the last couple of years, we pushed for the inclusion of four more sites under the IBA category,” and the inclusion of Hazaribag among the four sites would now get international recognition and state government would focus more on conservation and protection of the areas.

Satya Prakash has published ample research papers in the field of wildlife and its protection.

He has been awarded for his work on various occasions.

He is still working consistently in the preservation of vulture and counting of birds, he has a vast knowledge about the species of birds present in Hazaribag.
