Shubhlakshmi Sharma (International Cricketer from Hazaribag, Jharkhand, Plays for women's cricket team) 

Shubhlakshmi Sharma is an Indian Cricketer who plays women's cricket and she is a fast bowler. She is the second-fastest bowler after Jhulan Goswami. She is from Hazaribag, Jharkhand. She has completed her matriculation from Mount Carmel School in 2006 and did her intermediate from Annada College in 2008. During her school days, she used to play all other sports except cricket as cricket was not popular among girls during those days. She used to play Badminton and was a very good Badminton player. In 2004, when there was a trial for cricket in Hazaribag, the sports teacher of Carmel, Bobby Sir stressed her to attend the trial. She gave trial and got selected at District level as she used to play little cricket with her brothers and had some knowledge of cricket at that time.

When She got selected for District and played very well, she got a call for State trial very soon and got selected in the Jharkhand State team. As cricket was not popular among girls, there were no practice sessions for girls in Hazaribag, so Shubhlakshmi decided to practice with the boy's team under Manohar Singh (cricket coach) after consistent requests. Though her father was not in favor of her playing cricket, her brother and mother supported her a lot and decided to make her dream come true.

With the Women's India cricket team

She was performing very well for the Jharkhand State team and due to that, she got a call from Indian Railways to join the Eastern railway division in the sports quota in 2008. The irony is that as soon as she got her job, she was dropped from the State team. Many players started saying to her that, it is due to the job she is not performing and will leave cricket it seems. But she did not join the job and came back home and kept practicing to make a comeback. Her hard work earned her a place in playing eleven in Jharkhand State and she was called for playing other trophies too. After that, she joined Indian Railways and kept playing for the railway team, and performed in every match she played. After her consistent training, she got selected for Team India in 2012. She made her T20 Debut for India in February 2012 and an ODI debut in March 2012. She had been selected for the test team too. She played the first test which Indian Women played in 2013. After playing all the formats team India, she has proved her ability in cricketing fraternity all over the country. She has played 10 ODIs for India and has taken 15 wickets, she has played 17 T20 Internationals and has taken 22 wickets. she has played one test for team India (the women's team has played only two tests till now altogether) and has 4 wickets. She is playing for team India since 2012 and has been performing well, she is unlucky not to be a part of team India in the world Cup of 2017, but she has played two T20 world cups earlier and one ODI world.

While asking about her future in cricket, she says, she has got around 10 more years in cricket as she is only 27 years of age. She made her debut for team India at the age of 22 years only.
